Project pitches showcase the next generation of biomaterials researchers at TU Vienna

The final session of cluster coordinator Heinz Redl’s lecture series Introduction to Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering once again demonstrated the enthusiasm and creativity of future scientists. Originally part of the curriculum at TU Wien, the course has evolved into a true Cluster initiative, with the Medical University of Vienna, FH Technikum Wien, and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Traumatology contributing.

As the highlight of the semester, students presented their ideas in a “Pitch Your Project” competition. This year, as many as 82 project pitches explored innovative approaches in biomaterials and tissue engineering.

Congratulations to the three winning projects:

  • Haleena Jaimon for “Bioactive Glass in Bone Regeneration”
  • Hanna Vecsera for “Toregem Biopharma Tooth Regeneration Drug”
  • Helena Engel for “Fish-derived biomaterials for osteoporosis”

With 82 project pitches presented, the event was a strong reminder of how much curiosity, creativity, and scientific enthusiasm is coming from the next generation of (cluster) researchers.
